While at Roku, I developed a family of icons based on clarity, alignment, and ease of use across all aspects of Roku including packaging, web design, advertising, and internal communications. Prior to this, each department had their own set of icons. These new icons assured brand consistency. In January 2024 we released our new brand guidelines and this was a key portion of the overhaul. It's unified TV, web, mobile, packaging, and internal communications with consistent messaging.

As an Associate Creative Director, I worked on the Michaels account for three years. This direct mail campaign was for their framing department. Each postcard told the story of a life journey where one important moment was captured and framed.
I helped concept the series and executed all design elements. This became their most successful direct mail campaign to date.

My role at eBay was manager, art director, and designer. This particular homepage banner ad series was in support of eBay Valet, a program where eBay takes care of the selling process. The challenge was informing sellers which items qualify for the program and which sell well. These banner ads use very particular merchandise to tell a visually appealing story to sellers.

While at the Kansas City advertising agency Barkley, we worked with PF Chang’s to produce this Xiao Huo menu as well as the supporting direct mail piece, which announced the new menu.
As designer on this project, I reached out to a friend who is a calligrapher in Asia and asked her to create the Chinese characters for me. I then designed the Xiao Huo icon, which represents a low-flame. The textures and layers hint at a journal from being in China where the secrets of this low-flame technique were discovered.

Direct mail isn't what typically comes to mind when hearing the term eco-friendly. Something our team was all too aware of when asked to create a mailer for the grand opening of an eco-friendly banking branch. Our solution, cut down on waste by taking advantage of previously sent postcards—mailed circa 1920 to 1990. We ended up sending 15,000 used postcards.
While at the Kansas City advertising agency Barkley, my team worked on this colorful restaurant identity for the restaurant Michael Smith. The bold colors and childhood photos on the wine menus bring charm to this self-named restaurant of a James Beard winning chef.
I specifically worked on the menu design and fabrication. As well as curating the chef’s childhood photos.

While at the Kansas City advertising agency, Barkley, I created an annual philanthropic event centered around knitting. During the month of January, I taught volunteers to knit. Barkley paid for all supplies and sponsored an employee-run soup kitchen on the donation day. We donated over 100 scarves, hats, and mittens to City Union Mission, a local shelter for the poor and homeless.
These posters were hung around the offices to “guilt” employees into donating their time for Project Knit. There was also an internal website where you were invited to guilt someone into knitting by calling them out on an office faux paus.

While at the Kansas City advertising agency Barkley, our team worked on the promotions for the Chocolicious WonkaCakes. This product was being released in conjunction with the movie “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.”
My role on the team was to create an impressive sell sheet. All facts were contained within a folder that highlighted all promotions for these WonkaCakes and included an elaborate die cut that helped highlight the whimsical nature of these Hostess treats.

While at the Kansas City advertising agency Barkley, one of my clients was Helzberg Jewelers and this was one of their holiday catalogs.
The top images, “Inside” and “Out”, are my original mood boards that I presented to the client. My concept was to have half of the book represent the warm feelings that winter and the holidays bring. While the second half of the book would highlight the magical icy wonderland that nature brings at winter.
Once this concept was chosen, each spread had to be carefully planned out according to our shot list. I worked with a production designer to complete each spread. Once client-approved, these pages were given to our prop stylists and photographer.
I met with the stylist in New York and approved the props as well as art directed the photo shoot. The last image shows the final center spread, where inside meets outside, of the 56 page catalog.

A local cosmetic tattoo shop needed to produce aftercare cards for their clientele. The shop, Empress Brow & Beauty, is named after the Empress Tarot Card. This particular card represents life, art, business, and romance. As an extension of this branding, we created Tarot cards that incorporated the studio’s logo, which is the Empress crown with 12 stars.

While at the Kansas City advertising agency Barkley, I worked on the 24 Hour Fitness team. This particular mailer was introducing a new rewards platform. The piece was segmented by both age and by gender.

I’ve worked on CES 2022 Signage for Roku and the 2019 Cloudera Conference branding, which included a “bible,” This showcased sizes and locations of each graphic for the multi-level conference, which enabled the on-site team to quickly and easily know where design installations needed to happen.
